In the later years of my career, many newspapers eliminated photographers to save money. They handed cameras to the reporters, and told us -- without much training -- to take our own photos. During times when video was in demand, we also shot videos. I learned to embrace these new challenges, and I worked hard to improve my skills. Here are some samples.
